As part of CompTIA, a leading voice and advocate for the global information technology ecosystem and a hub for advancing the tech industry and its workforce, CompTIA’s UK Channel Community was formed in early 2011 following the acquisition of Technology Channels Association (TCA).
As an Executive Council Member, James’s role is to represent the voice of the community, and to place a focus on the UK region as a world leader in technology innovation whilst finding ways to positively impact the industry. In line with the UK Channel Community’s mission, James is committed to identifying challenges and opportunities within the UK channel, and helping the community become more successful as a trusted space for sharing and learning.
Commenting on his recent appointment, James Pittick said: “Canon has been a member of CompTIA for many years, and as a Channel Director I have actively encouraged my team to have a close relationship with the organisation. I am keen to further support the CompTIA community as an Executive Council Member, as I think this is the ideal platform to promote the Channel. CompTIA plays a vital role in helping its members build and expand their businesses, and in my tenure, I will be working towards a successful growth of the UK Channel community.”
James adds: “I think the IT industry is in an exciting place, with the convergence of managed IT services (MSP, MSSP) and managed print and document services (MPDS) into one more holistic offering to the end-user customer. CompTIA is a thriving community and I believe the role I have running the Channel for an OEM such as Canon means I have a great deal of value to offer the Executive Council and wider member community.”
Estelle Johannes, Director of Member Communities for the UK at CompTIA, says: “As the community grows in relevance and support, we are pleased to have major players in the industry backing the community. To have James Pittick as one of our newly appointed executive council leaders makes us very excited for the growth and progression of the community. James Pittick will make his first appearance as a UK Community Executive Council leader at the Manchester meeting at the beginning of March. James being an expert in the industry and no stranger to public speaking will be sharing his views on 2019 and his vision for 2020, and will be discussing what the future holds for the exciting industry we work in.”
The next CompTIA’s UK Channel Community Regional Meeting will take place on the 3rd and 4th of March 2020 in Manchester. During the regional meeting, members will be sharing their industry outlook for the UK in 2020 across four pillars of IT: infrastructure, software development, cybersecurity, and data.
