Summer Cashback 2023 Promotion
Terms & Conditions

1. PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS, PARTICIPATING RETAILERS, PROMOTIONAL PERIOD AND PARTICIPANTS

1.1. This promotion is only available on purchases made of any of the products listed below in Schedule 1 (the “Promotional Products”) within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (“UK”) or Republic of Ireland (“ROI”) together the Territory from one of our listed participating retailers in the UK or ROI as applicable (“Participating Retailers”) between 00.00 BST Wednesday 31st May 2023 and 23.59 BST Tuesday 8th August 2023 inclusive (the “Promotional Period”). All other products and retailers are excluded. Some Promotional Products may be sold as a camera or printer only or part of a bundle but only ONE claim can be made per kit or bundle. If a kit includes two Promotional Products, the Participant will need to pick one product against which to make a claim. Purchases must be genuine purchases for cash or its equivalent.

1.2. All Participants must be aged 18 or over and must be resident in the UK or ROI (“Participant”).

1.3. All Participants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.

1.4. All Promotional Products must be new and genuine Canon Products. Purchases of second hand, refurbished or reconditioned products, or products which are counterfeit or infringe the intellectual property rights of the Canon group of companies in any way (for example, including but not limited to parallel or “grey” products) will not qualify under this promotion. 2. HOW TO PARTICIPATE

2.1. To enter the cashback promotion, the Participant must purchase a Promotional Product or Products from a Participating Retailer during the Promotional Period within the Territory AND submit a valid claim online between 00.00 BST on Wednesday 31st May 2023 and 23.59 BST on Wednesday 6th September 2023.
2.2. Claims must be submitted by fully and correctly completing (including specifying a valid European product serial number) a claim form online, at www.canon.co.uk/cashback for a Promotional Product purchased within the UK or www.canon.ie/cashback for a Promotional Product purchased within the ROI. Participants will need to scan, upload and attach to the online claim form a copy of their receipt, or order confirmation for internet purchases and if they are a Canon Club Member confirmation of their membership number. Participants will then receive an email confirming that their claim has been received. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of processing your claim, or do not have access to a computer, please contact our Claim Hotline on 0800 044 3251.
2.3. The Promotional Products are subject to availability while stocks last. Canon will not be liable for the failure of retailers to fulfill orders of Promotional Products during the Promotional Period.
2.4. Canon will not process any claims received after the closing date for receipt of claims of 23.59 BST on Wednesday 6th September 2023. Canon will not process claims which are in its opinion incomplete or illegible. Canon will not be responsible for claims delayed or not successfully received.
2.5. Claims by businesses or individuals who make bulk purchases (being more than 5 Promotional Products during the Promotional Period other than where the relevant products are comprised in kits or bundles as described in clause 1.1) will not be eligible to enter this Promotion.
2.6. Only one claim per Promotional Product purchased may be made.
2.7. This promotion cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other promotion EXCEPT where another Canon promotion during the Promotion Period expressly states in its terms and conditions that it may be redeemed in conjunction with this cashback promotion.

3. CASHBACK

3.1. Participants will receive:
3.1.1. cashback as set out in Schedule 1 in the amounts shown for purchases of Promotional Products during the Promotional Period; and
3.1.2. in addition for those Participants who are registered Canon Club Members at the point of purchase of the Promotional Product during the Promotional Period and at the point of their valid claim, an additional ‘Canon Club Member Bonus Cashback’ in the amounts shown in Schedule 2.
3.2. Upon receipt and verification of the claim, Canon will arrange for a direct BACS transfer payment to the Participant’s bank account. No alternative arrangement will be entered into and no cash or cheque will be provided.
3.3. Canon will endeavor to transfer via BACS within 4-6 weeks of receipt of a complete and valid claim.
3.4. Only one BACS payment will be issued per valid claim.
3.5. If you are UK VAT or ROI VAT registered and you receive a cashback, it may reduce the taxable value of your purchase and so you may need to reduce your input tax accordingly.
3.6. Where a Promotional Product has been purchased and a cashback claimed if the Participant decides to return the specified item the entitlement to the cashback is withheld.
3.7. Where a Promotional Product has been purchased with a cashback applied and paid by Canon, if the Participant decides to return the specified item:
3.7.1. Where the specified item was purchased from the Canon Official Store Canon will deduct the cashback amount paid from any refund due back to the Participant; or
3.7.2. Where the specified item was purchased from any other Participating Retailer (not Canon Official Store) the Participant agrees that they shall repay the cashback it received from Canon within 14 days of return of the specified item. The Participant agrees that Canon (through its third party supplier Benamic of IDA Business and Technology Park, Ring Road, Kilkenny, Ireland) shall contact the Participant by email to arrange for such repayment and to confirm the payment methods available to the Participant.
3.8. Promotional Products returned (free of default) for refund shall not be valid for the cashback promotion and Participants found claiming for these Promotional Products shall not be eligible. If Canon becomes aware of any such fraud, it shall be free to take a legal action against any Participants involved.

4. THE PROMOTER

4.1. The promoter is Canon (UK) Ltd, company number 01264300 with its registered office address at 4 Roundwood Avenue, Stockley Park, Uxbridge UB11 1AF

5. DISCLAIMERS

5.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Canon shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature howsoever caused, sustained by any Participant under this promotion. However, nothing in these rules shall have the effect of excluding or restricting Canon’s liability for personal injury or death caused by the proven negligence of Canon’s employees or agents.
5.2. In exceptional circumstances, Canon may void, amend, and/or change this promotion at any time without incurring any liability whatsoever provided that such changes are necessary and can be justified by objective reasons.
5.3. Canon reserves the right to audit any claims to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions and to request additional information and supporting documents. Canon reserves the right to exclude claims and/or Participants if it suspects that the promotion is being abused in any way. Canon’s decisions in relation to the promotion are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5.4. If any part of these conditions is found by a court of competent jurisdiction or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, then such part shall be severed from the remainder of these conditions, which shall continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by law.

6. DATA

6.1. Canon (UK) Ltd is the Data Controller in respect of any personal data supplied by Participants. Any personal data submitted to Canon (UK) Limited will be processed by (a) Canon (UK) Ltd and its third party supplier Benamic Ltd, IDA Business and Technology Park, Ring Road, Kilkenny, Ireland, for the purpose of administering this Promotion, and, if applicable (b) by Canon (UK) Limited and its associated companies for marketing purposes- in cases where Participants have opted-in to receive marketing communication from Canon. 6.2. If Participants do not wish for their contact information to be used for marketing purposes or to enable Canon to contact them in future regarding similar promotions, they should NOT check the relevant “opt-in” box when completing the claim form.

7. LAW AND JURISDICTION

As You are a participating consumer, laws of your country of residence will apply to this Promotion, and You may be entitled to bring court proceedings in your own language and in your local courts. A local consumer advice organization will be able to advise you on your rights. These Terms do not restrict any statutory rights that may be applicable.
