Five reasons why the PIXMA TR150 is ideal for printing on the move

Working away from the home or office? Having a printer you can use anywhere gives you a professional edge – and it could help to get you more clients.

It's important to make every opportunity count when you're working on the move. Rather than the promise of an email, leaving a prospective client with a printed quote, or even a contract to sign, is a great way to help secure business.

And the ability to print on the spot can be useful in a variety of situations. Personal trainers and physiotherapists can leave exercise lists and diagrams, so they know their clients will be making the right moves while there is no one there to help. And tutors can keep students on track with clear lesson plans, crib sheets and revision notes.

Compact and portable, the PIXMA TR150 and the PIXMA TR150 with battery are a great choice of printer for anyone who wants to print when they're away from the home or office. Here are five reasons why it could help you to run your business more efficiently.

1. Great portability

The ability to print on the go makes Canon PIXMA TR150 ideal for people working away from the home or office.

A man in a high-vis jacket carries a PIXMA TR150 under his arm.

The Canon PIXMA TR150 is small and light enough to carry around with you.

The PIXMA TR150 is ideal if you need a small printer that will fit on top of your already crowded desk, or if you work from remote offices, or visit clients and business premises with mains power. You can pop it in your bag and carry it with you, lock it in a drawer or use a compatible anti-theft lock to keep it safe. If you routinely work outdoors, or your car or local coffee shop is your office, the PIXMA TR150 with battery comes with an easy-to-attach battery that can print up to 330 pages from a full charge1.

Once you've connected the battery to the main unit it takes two hours and 20 minutes to charge via the mains AC adapter. The battery can also be charged via a mobile battery pack or a car power outlet using the supplied USB-C cable. Keep an eye on the battery power indicator LED and you should never be without the ability to print.

2. Easy connectivity

Wireless printing capabilities enable you to print from your smartphone camera roll. You can even use Wireless Direct to print without Wi-Fi.

The PIXMA TR150 and PIXMA TR150 with battery both feature wireless connectivity and are compatible with AirPrint (iOS), Mopria (Android) and Windows mobile for app-free printing straight from your smart device OS. Both printers can also be controlled from your smartphone via the free Canon PRINT app, which enables you to print documents and photos stored on your device or on cloud-based storage services, including Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and Google Classroom, via PIXMA Cloud Link. The Canon PRINT app also enables you to capture scans of documents using your smartphone camera. Simply select the Smartphone Copy function to make copies quickly and easily, and either print, save or email directly from your smartphone.

Both printers support 2.4GHz and 5GHz2 Wi-Fi bands so you can switch to less congested Wi-Fi networks for a more reliable connection. Plus, if you're in the middle of nowhere without a router or a convenient Wi-Fi signal, you can tap into Wireless Direct to make prints wirelessly straight from your phone, tablet or laptop. It means you're free to roam wherever your job takes you, and you can still produce the prints you need to get things done and keep your clients (or your boss) happy.

3. Specialty paper support

The Canon PIXMA TR150 might be small, but it can hold up to 50 sheets of plain paper and handle a range of different paper types.

With a capacity for 50 sheets of plain paper, you won't find yourself having to refill the PIXMA TR150 too often during your working day. That's great news if you need to print a stack of questionnaires, a classroom full of test papers or a pile of lengthy contracts.

Both printers are also compatible with envelopes and speciality paper, including Canon High Resolution Paper, Matte Photo Paper, Double-sided Matte Paper and Magnetic Photo Paper. That versatility means you can pick the paper to suit your needs and print addresses directly onto envelopes, so all of your communications look professional. You could even print fridge magnets of your logo and telephone number to give to your clients. Or, if you're a teacher, create a customised gold star for your best-performing pupils.

4. Custom templates

If you often print the same forms, it's possible to store up to five templates on the PIXMA TR150 and PIXMA TR150 with battery.

Do you find yourself having to print the same documents on a regular basis? The PIXMA TR150 and PIXMA TR150 with battery can store up to five templates ready to print at a moment's notice, saving you time finding documents on your laptop, smartphone or tablet. Forms, contracts, questionnaires or brochures can all be stored on the printer via Windows Driver3, so they're ready for fast printing via the printer's 1.44-inch OLED screen.

5. Crisp, long-lasting prints

A man sitting behind a desk holds up a tablet showing a holiday brochure. A colourful print is emerging from the Canon PIXMA TR150 next to him on the desk.

Get crisp prints with superb quality in darker areas. Hybrid ink with a dedicated pigment black ink creates sharp text, while dye-based colours give vivid prints.

The two printers use a hybrid ink system that combines a black pigment ink with a 4-ink dye-based colour cartridge. That means you get sharp text for important documents while photographs and diagrams look rich and vibrant. With Canon's ChromaLife100 technology you can rest assured that printed photos will last a lifetime4.

To keep things simple, the printers take two cartridges, one for the black pigment ink and the other for the coloured inks. And to make sure that you don't run out of ink when you're in the middle of an important job miles from the nearest shop, there's an easy-to-access level check on the screen.

Compact, quiet, and easy to operate, the PIXMA TR150 and the PIXMA TR150 with battery will enable you to remain discreet and professional at all times. Wherever your business takes you, take a TR150 along for the ride.

  1. Printed via USB connection without Wi-Fi connection.
  2. Support for 5GHz may not be available in your region.
  3. Templates need to be loaded onto the printer via the Canon printer driver using Windows PC only.
  4. Based on accelerated testing by Canon in dark storage under controlled temperature, humidity and gas conditions, simulating storage in an album with plastic sleeves. Canon cannot guarantee the longevity of prints; results may vary depending on printed image, drying time, display/storage conditions and environmental factors.
