The Power of Collaboration
What did you miss?
At this year's ILLUMINATE event, guests from the public and private sectors of Scotland started the day by broadening the perspective of collaboration through the lens of a former Red Arrows pilot - Andy Wyatt.
Andy's extensive career exposed him to thousands of situations that demand clear thinking under pressure. His talk inspired guests on the topics of teamwork, the importance of planning, preparation and debriefing with examples from his wealth of experience in Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team.
The program continued with an interactive workshop where attendees were divided into small groups, each tackling a challenge focused on security, digital transformation, and sustainability. With specific prompts to guide them, teams brainstormed innovative solutions and developed ideas that showcased the principles of effective teamwork. This engaging experience not only reinforced the event’s theme but also fostered meaningful connections, illustrating the transformative power of collaboration in action.
The event concluded with a Q&A, where, together with the audience Marshall Sykes and Andy Wyatt engaged into a rich dialogue about the essence of collaboration. Their insights, drawn from the worlds of rugby and the Red Arrows, sparked a lively exchange, as attendees shared their own experiences and questions. Overall, the session was a testament to how diverse experiences can come together to teach invaluable lessons on teamwork and collaboration.
